Recommended CAGOP Leaders
CAGOP Delegates will gather in Sacramento the weekend of March 14-16 to elect new leaders and consider changes to the Bylaws. We will all miss the incredible leadership of Chair Jessica Patterson who brought the CAGOP back to solvency and relevancy as California voters helped secure a majority in the House of Representatives and the popular vote for our President Trump.
As always happens when a strong leader must step aside, there are many who think they can do better. Some know the Party is in good shape and they want to build on that foundation. Others, who spewed angry rhetoric and sat on the sidelines during the past election, now want to step in and purify the party. As someone who has been active for decades, I’ve seen it time and again. We can’t cede the CAGOP to those who don’t understand California voters and overlook candidates who are right for their districts.
We need common sense leaders who can provide County GOP Committees and conservative activists with the tools to elect Republicans at the local, state, and federal levels of government. These leaders need to have the skills, the foresight, and the grace to see that most Republicans just want President Trump to be successful, and our elected Republicans to be respected.
The choice is clear. We must elect a new CAGOP Board of Directors who have demonstrated they can move the Party forward – not backward.
Corrin Rankin for Chair (WON!) – Corrin has served as Vice Chair of the CAGOP, and in that capacity she has traveled the State to support County GOP Committees and local conservative organizations. She has been active in reaching out to non-traditional communities who were craving new leaders in Washington, and we saw the results in the 2024 election. Corrin has the skills and experience to understand what is needed to elect candidates and support our work at the grassroots level. John Park for Vice Chair (WON!) – John has been serving as the Regional Vice Chair for the South Region where many Republicans have been elected. As founder of the Greater Irvine Republicans, he demonstrated his skills to mobilize at the grassroots level. As a successful business owner he understands the importance of leading with an effective strategy, utilizing the latest technology, and having the finances to support the work of the Party. Robert Rego for Treasurer – Robert has also been serving as a Regional Vice Chair for the Inland Region as well as a Member of several key CAGOP Committees. There are many reasons why he is supported by popular outgoing Treasurer Greg Gandrud and a long list of current Republican leaders – he’s qualified to do the job! Treasurer is not just a seat on the Board of Directors. The incumbent must have experience in political accounting and reporting, as well as a dedication to keeping close watch on the expenditures of the CAGOP. Learn more about Robert on his website – https://www.robertrego.com
Sayrs Morris for Secretary (WON!) – Sayrs has an impressive background that makes her qualified to serve as Secretary on the CAGOP Board of Directors. She is currently the Chair of Imperial County where she flipped the County red and supportive of President Trump. She is a small business owner and school teacher who has been on the front lines to advocate for parental rights and the First Amendment. View her long list of supporters and more about her background on her website – https://www.sayrsforsecretary.com
Joe Day for Central Valley Vice Chair (WON!) – The Central Valley Region often makes the difference in House of Representatives elections and statewide ballot measures. Stretching from Sacramento to Kern County, the region needs an experienced leader who can navigate the intra-party battles that have divided us and contributed to losing close elections. Joe has served as a County Chairman and will bring a strategic approach to each County. Learn more about him on his website – https://centralvalleyred.com

Update: Congrats to the winners at the Republican Convention, including Jack Guerrero who prevailed as Treasurer. And many thanks to all of the retiring CAGOP Board Members – especially Chairwoman Jessica Patterson – for many victories in 2024. It was a spirited Convention with all the usual characters and battles, but in the end, we expect Corrin Rankin will have a great group to work with as we head into the 2026 Elections.

Corrin is not the common sense candidate. She supports affirmative action and has failed as a leader.
Madison – Thanks for sharing your concerns. I am sorry you have been misinformed by sources that you trust. Those of us who led County GOP Committees knew that Corrin was an effective liaison to the CAGOP and it’s resources. She has the skills to keep growing our party. She is a strong supporter of President Trump and his policies and he has relied on her to reach out to non-traditional communities that made a big difference in the 2024 election. She understands California voters and is not delusional about the issues that need to lead to help us win more seats in 2026.
Corrin GOP lost three incumbent congressional seats in November of 2024 one of which was in Corrin’s back yard.
Corrin voted to penalize Republican nominees at our last convention restricting delegate appointments to our endorsed candidates. Sorry to inform you but that is not how we grow the Republican party.
Corrin voted not to endorse President Trump at convention. Is that what you call strong support?
Corrin supports affirmative action. Reverse discrimination is not a Republican value and is certainly not a policy supported by President Trump. Woke is a Joke.
Republican voters are most concerned about election integrity in California. President Trump and The RNC support the use of paper ballots for elections. Corrin wants delegates to vote using machines at convention.
Do you understand Corrin’s policies are not supported by President Trump.
California Republican Party Delegates want leadership skills and policies that align with President Trump.
This is what we voted for!
Why did Corrin vote differently?
Dear Rudy,
Thanks for sharing your opinions. You are relying on disinformation from folks who have an agenda to be in control – not a strategy to win over voters. You put the blame on Corrin for lost seats in different parts of the State where infighting caused County Committees to be ineffective. So tragic. That said, are you going to give her credit for the Legislative seats that were picked up? It’s time for everyone to get over themselves and work against the Democrats, not the Republicans. I know you are concerned, but I can assure you that the talking points used by the Morrell folks are just that…not based on truth. It is my hope that people don’t do things at this Convention that can’t be overcome once a winner is declared – regardless of who it is.
